What was your first job out of college, and how did you land that position?
I worked for a production company, my best friend owned it. It’s not what you know it’s who you know.
What drove you to pursue a career in the field of entertainment?
Working towards being the best in the industry and inspiring other minorities to do the same.
What has been the most difficult adjustment you’ve had to make in order to continue driving your career to the next level?
People. Dealing with artist and producers. A lot of times people can make the job more difficult than what it needs to be.
What advice would you give your 22-year-od self?
Do what you love to do because when you do what you love, it is never a job.
Is there anything you wish you had known when you were first starting out? Anything that was easier or more challenging than you expected?
Yes, I wish I would’ve known how expensive college was going to be and music publishing was a lot easier than I expected.
What is your morning routine and how does it prepare you for a success day in the office?
Pray, check emails, interviews, listen to new music for my company or radio show and train because I’m also a pro wrestler.
If you could do it all over again what would you change about a career move or decision you’ve made?
If I could do it all over again, I would have went to college much earlier. Otherwise, I wouldn’t change a thing.
If you could have lunch with anyone, who would it be?
Obama because he is the first African American president and he inspires me everyday.
What’s your favorite way to celebrate a success and why is it important to celebrate accomplishments?
Going to church because I give all glory to God. I don’t think it’s really important to celebrate them, but it helps you acknowledge that you have accomplished something in life.
